Beruflicher Werdegang:
Ayat Mirzaie is a sociologist and Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Movements (ISB), Ruhr University Bochum. He is currently affiliated with Ruhr University Bochum through the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and was previously a DAAD fellow at the same institute. His academic background lies at the intersection of political sociology, historical sociology, nationalism studies, and sociology of science and technology. His current research focuses on social movements, nationalism, coalition-building, and political change in modern and contemporary Iran, with particular attention to the historical dynamics of collective action and the relationship between state and society. His work also extends to the sociology of science and technology, where he examines research ethics, academic integrity, peer review, scientific communities, and science professionalism. This strand of his research focuses on the institutional and normative conditions of knowledge production.
